Bayliner trophy

How does this boat hold up over the years? I always see several for sale in my area but I've had a friend urge me to stay away from anything bayliner

I've heard that the older trophys were produced with the bayliner name, someone told me that the newer trophys (which don't appear to be associated with bayliner now) are made by a different builder which happens to be the same builder that builds sea ray

Any info about older or newer trophys would be welcomed

Tis true. Searay . Happened about 6 years ago. Yes they are built in a searay factory. Which model are you looking at? Just curious. I worked at 3 Bayliner dealers All for the same manager and at the same location for 22 1/2 years.

A good engine, if maintained. look for water leaks from rail bases, and windshield screws/ bolts. If it was a salt water boat, check lower unit for corrosion. If a fresh water boat check for Invasive species. If the engine has fresh water cooling, open the end cap to see if there are invasive species in the fresh water cooler. also chech gear oil and engine oil for water contamination. How old are the batteries?

For such a large boat, I find them to have a relatively small fishing platform. It ends up being a 2 person boat with only 2 downriggers.

I am fairly satisfied with my 2004 Trophy 2052, some of the things that I can complain about would be, being under powered here in Wyoming after de ration for altitude you loose approximately 30 % of your HP and with the Carbed 4.3 L I need all the power I can get with that heavy hull. Also as Super D stated my deck space is limited 4 is definitely company on a fishing trip. Also the bilge on my boat is tiny making servicing yourself a nightmare and next to impossible. Some of the things I do like about the boat, are the Alaska hard top, hands down wouldn't own another boat without one, it is so nice not dealing with canvas. Also the gel coat has held up great with no spider cracks or major defects to date. It also rides nice in heavy chop with the steep entry and heavy hull, and on the Gorge that's definitely a plus. The trophy is definitely and entry level boat and there are absolutely nicer boats out there, but I don't think a guy can go wrong with one. This is my 2nd season in mine and overall I love the boat.
