Seeing as here lately there hasn't been much talk going on i thought lets see a pic of your best Koke you have caught.

Well, i have been fishing for Kokes for only a couple years now. Still pretty fresh to washington as well but am loving these little fellas. The remind me of fishing for reds back home in Alaska anyways thats a story for another day. Heres my best one it came from American this fall was able to catch a few from american but this one being right about 18in was by far my biggest.

Can't wait to see what you guys got. They don't have to be from washington but would be cool if you mentioned time of year and lake but with the amount of competition all the lakes get i can understand if you don't want to tell where you caught it at. anyways here it is.

here it is in the live well bleeding out bout to be put on ice

gorge koke

Here is my personal best kokanee from flaming gorge, by far not the top caliber that you see from there, but its my best. I am guessing just a hair under 4# and never measured it. September fish if i remember correctly.koke.jpg

My biggest was just over 19".

Got it at Lake Merwin several years ago mid-August. The pliers are 8" long.

My biggest Kokanee was the 18 3/4 that I hooked & then gave away!!

Here's the rest of the story, It was two years ago while fishing the Oregon Kokanee Power Derby at Wickiup with my ole buddy Kent Cannon.
We are trolling,4 poles out and my #1 takes off like a rocket, didnt have to set the hook with this one I could tell it was on & a nice one!
Then my # 2 pole takes a deep bend and pops the release so what could I do? What would you do? So I hand Kent pole #1 and grab # 2 right?
So Kent is yelling about his fish(?) jumping & my hands full with #2 ....for a couple of minutes.....and then.....IT'S GONE! %**%#@&$. Sooo being the TEAM Player that I am I grabed the net while Kent brought his fish (?) in, using my perfect netting technique I hauled it in!! Turned out to be the largest, heavest
of the DERBY!!!
It also put Kent & I in the Derby Money!!!! Kokonuts

Some very impressive fish there ladies and gentlemen!
The largest koke I hooked is burned in my memory for life. I was 8 years old when my grandfather took me to Lake Steilacoom to fish off the pedestrian bridge. It took what seemed like forever fighting the fish and not having a long enough net it was able to shake it's self off while trying to pull it up and on to the bridge. Talk about heart breaking.
