Question to those of you out there that like to do some of your own service,
Are you using an oil extractor?
Do you like it?
What kind is it?
Thanks

are you talking for inboard or outboard? I use an air conditioning vac pump I have on a gallon glass jug I use to change out the hi pressure oil reservoir in my 7.3 that works better than any store bought system out there that I have seen, but still pull the drain plug on every thing .dfly

When I change oil on my outboards, I use a piece of PVC pipe from the drain plug to the ground on my big motor. On the kicker motor, I cut the bottom off a 2 liter soda bottle and duct tape it to the shaft. That works slicker than snot on the kicker.

I have used the jabsco drill driven pumps for years on my 7.4 mercruiser and on most other in-boards where the drain plugs are not accessible. they have worked very well for me .

this is what I have you can pick up these vac pumps up on ebay and yard sales pretty cheep. the hose goes from the pump to the jar and the other goes from the jar to what ever you are sucking up. you can use 1/8'', 3/16'' or 1/4'' DOT. hose to fit what ever hole you need to get into. this also sucks up old brake fluid in master cyls. or surge brake chambers. power steering pump oil when you want to change it. etc etc. very handy unit to have
