Hey Pauli,
What a sweet pair of rides on the roads and water. We have admired sprinter campers; all the luxury without all the mass. What really caught my eye was your whaler. We had a 16 ft Dauntless for 15 years. A fun boat that served us well. We had the whaler in a slip at elk creek marina at Blue Mesa when my 14 and 16 year old daughters were working in the marina store and gas docks. We had a ski boat at the time but when the girls wanted to be noticed they took dad’s whaler out for a spin. Two good looking girls in bikinis standing up driving a whaler caused a lot of stares and teenage heartbreaks. Good memories of that boat. The engine had 6000 hours on it when we sold it and the kicker, a 2.5 hp Yamaha not shown in the photo, was totally worn out. Last we heard it was around the San Juan islands in Washington.
I was stunned when I realized yours was an inboard and a jet. I followed a large whaler web site for years and never heard mention of such a craft. Getting the engine mass in front of the transom would help the weight distribution a lot and I’d guess this is a speedy boat. Sounds like you have a pair of good solutions for your fishing affliction. Life looks good on your boat.
