Judgeing from the reports i read it seems the majority of koke fishermen/women are fishing with two rods in states that allow it. I fish with one rod and was curious how many others still do.

Shawn and I use 2 ea. However on days that the fishing is hot it is more of a PITA you end up not being able to bait and reset all the rods anyway. But the days you are out for a whole day and only pick up a couple the extra rods help.

5 rods is about the max my boat fishes well and there will be some tangles. Since one of the rules on my boat is we alternate fish among the fishermen on the boat, I guess we are fishing 5 at a time when we have 3 or more fishermen on the boat. LOL!

I use one. I tend to pick my rod in the beginning of the trip and stick with it. Not to mention I usually get a new rod for myself and gf in the beginning of the season and we ALWAYS have a competition to see who lands the most fish that year w/said rod. thumbsup Using other rods dont count. (says her)nananana

two for me, two for the wife Usually 1 DR---1 ld line--- 1high flat --- 1 under all the others for the big macks.. when 1 of the higher lines gets hot we rig another like it but always keep the deep line for the lakers

Thankfully I live in a state that does not make me purchase a second rod stamp.thumbsup If fishing by myself I always use two poles I rotate between three poles, two in the water and the third on deck with a fresh set-up. When I find what the fish want then I will make adjustments and only use two poles. If one of my buddies is with me . we use two poles both on the d/r and a third out the back .

When it is just me I run two, when the wife or Grandson is along, usually three total just to keep it from becoming a chinese fire drill in a 16' boat.

i fish six when permits and persons allow it. and have 12 koke rods at the ready and 2 rods to run on side planners

i am just going koke fishing this summer for the first time, but plan to buy the 2nd rod stamp. here in texas i fish with around 6 for catfish. we do not have to buy any extra stamps.

how many rods you fishing

i was on the big island hawaii and watching these guys fishing on the southern end with these huge reels that looked like small winches and 12' rods and they had 4 to 8 rods each so while talking with them i asked how many rods can you fish with and his reply was as many can you afford, whitch makes sence you can only catch your limit and your done anyway. enough sidtracking its just funny how states control how many rods you can fish with. have a nice day

I use 2 rods. Whenever I go fishing with wifee, with her disability its hard to keep up with 4 rods so I go down to 2.

We don't have rod limits here in NC .I run 4 rods off the two downriggers and one flatline shallow and maybe run a cowbell 10'-20' deep. Like Petty , I try to keep several rods rigged and ready ,so I can get lines back out quickly if I get tangled or want to re-rig.101chromefish101

Six rods at once? Jason, that is one serious "curtain of death" you got there.worthy12 I fish two when by myself, up to four with family or friends. I always have one extra rod ready to go.

Some states find a way to bring in additional revenue with the purchase of a second pole stamp but that didn't change the creel limit at all.

I can't imagine inviting friends on the boat in states where there is no rod limit! It is tough enough when they show up with 2 rods and a big tackle bag now. "I think we're gonna need a bigger boat."

I always run a Mack(lake trout) rig when I fish for koke. Large lure(m2 or M3 t 50 or u2) no dodger. This season I will be trying sinker droppers instead of a weighted lead line to get deep and stay well under all the koke rigs. We always see the big loner fish on or near the bottom when were targeting koke. Whats most interesting is to watch them rise up when you have a koke on. Thats when the ones we;ve picked up, 4 to date, have hit the lure. Great fun..

you should see me wiper fishing. LOL. you just have to know what your doing and have people on the boat that know what there doing and you dont have to real in anything when you get one on

I always fish with 2 rods myself and up to a max of 5 rods with multiple people in the boat. Some are fished on downriggers and some flatline. Quick turns are out of the question and autopilot sure is a nice addition to your trolling motor.
