The Bear 9-13-2015

Took a pre-run for what was a perfect outing for on Bear. Fished the Cisco area and could see numbers of fish gathering on both of my graphs. I put 3 to the boat, a 5lb & 12lb lakers. A 7lb cutt came to play too. All released. Water temp @ 64, a spring type day with air temp reaching into mid 70's. No wind to speak of only a welcome cool breeze causing a ripple effect on water. Love the color of this water. The cutthroat shown has a blue tint to it. Its never too late for anyone that wants to join us on Sept 26 for a gathering of fishing & potluck at the end of the day. thumbsup

After discussion we are going to change the location of the gathering from the Garden City state park to the east side Cisco area at Rainbow Cove. This is where most will want to fish since the fish are in this area. It will also provide a sanction in the event the afternoon wind kicks up saving a long slow trip in maybe choppy seas. There is a courtesy launch dock at Rainbow Cove. Same date.

The launch fee is only $6.00 at rainbow cove. Concrete launch and floating dock. That should work well. Vault toilets close to the dock, so it is a good location.

Best of luck to you Brat Boys! I'll be off the grid for a few days here, and will look for your report when I get back online next Wed.

You'll be missed this year Chuck. Couldn't ask for better weather and the company. Have fun at the Grand Canyon.

Drove up today and jumped into the boat with Dallas. By the time I had left we had caught 2 cutts, 1 native & 1 keeper. The keeper came in at 7lb, the native at 3lb. After getting down the mountain received a call from Dallas that he put 3 more fish to the boat, 2 lakers 1 at 12lbs, and another 3lb cutt (all released). Heading back in am for gathering with boat in tow. Also ran into another friend who had put 3 to the boat. The fish are playing. tongue2

P9260006.JPGP9260008.JPGP9260009.JPGOur gathering was small in numbers but still a good time with good food. Fishing got somewhat slow but not as productive as we were hoping. Wind kicked up and kicked us off at 2pm. Still plenty of fishing left before winter settles in. Next gathering in the spring.
