Kokanee research

Allyn, I do not think anyone here is advocating putting Lake Trout into LP or AR. The question was could they still be around from being introduced in the 90's. I hadn't thought about chinook being used in Anderson to try to control the population of kokanee. As stated above, I enjoy the fishing we currently have in both AR and LP. It is clear that something needs to happen IF the goal is to help Anderson reach the quality we enjoy in both downstream reservoirs.

Pzak, yeah after I posted I realized I had twisted curiosity for their continued presence into advocacy for a release. Didn't bother to go back and edit my thoughts after I realized the mistake.

Anyways, Lake Trout are long lived species. If they were released there is a chance they would still be some.

That said, even at an extremely low pop. level that wasn't reproducing, I think there would be incidental by-catch from all the fishing pressure/f&g gillnetting and relatively small size of the reservoir. If there was any natural reproduction we would definitely know about that as we would be catching small ones commonly. That all said, I will have to take a second look at all the bull trout I pick up before I throw them back just to be sure.
