We went down Anvil Draw to fish last Sunday and Monday. My boat found that I'm trading her in for a bigger boat and refused to idle Sunday morning. After a good carberator cleaning, she decided she still likes me. The word around the camps is that there were lots of kokes on the graph, but very few had any success getting them to go. The four boats that ran out of our camp camp yielded one 3 lb koke for Sunday morning. 101thumbsdown101
Monday morning we made it out at first light fishing north of Anvil Draw towards Middle Marsh. My graph hasn't come back from Lowrance yet after taking a **** two weeks ago so I'm still flying blind. Our spread ranged from 44 - 60 ft. Best fish came from 55ft. Bites started a few minutes before the sun hit the horizon. Action was steady through most of the morning and was the wind... The wind throttled from 10-20mph since before sun up. A little after 9:00am when the wind picked up past 20mph and we had to run for shelter. Through the morning we lost about 6 hard charging fish during battle. When all was said and done, we had 4 kokes in the box, 2 rainbows and two macs (one almost 5 lbs).
Getting back to camp, we guessed everyone would have an ok box of fish since there was a decent bite going on. Wasn't true, the other 3 boats out of camp managed one-two pound koke and a few lake trout pups.
