Hello members,
i could use a little help. One of my sons lives up in Bellingham. I would like to go up and take him out in the car topper for some Kok fishing. Can anyone help me of the where to go spots? I see a post about Samish, are there any other good lakes that migh be a little smaller?
Thanks Doug

Samish and Padden are probably your best bets. I believe that Cain lake has had plants in the past, but I have never seen a report from there.
Padden is perfect for a car topper. Electric motors only in Padden.
Samish is quite fishable in a cartopper. I fish it in a 8 ft. pram at times, though later in the season, sometimes the Northern end of the lake can be more productive, and it's probably close to a mile from the launch.
Lake Whatcom has kokes, but it is even bigger that Samish.
Normally, Samish fishes well right off the boat launch and North....on either the East or west shoreline.

If I think of anything else I'll re-post......or contact me with questions.

B'Ham update

Hello,
So I took the lil boat on a trip up to Bellingham to fish with my son. Didnt start out so great as I got a flat on the trailer on the way 5 just outside of Mt Vernon. And wouldnt ya know it, I hadnt put the spare in. Well 6am turned into 7am waiting at les Scwabb. They hooked me up and I got back on the road. Met the boy at his place and out to Lake Samish we go. First day we picked up two 15" inch Kok's! not bad for a late start.

Day two we went back to Lake Samish, we picked up 4 15" Kok's, and one 9"er. The fishing was not hot but the size of the fish was very very nice, each of the big ones were carbon copies of each other on both days. They looked like they were getting ready to spawn the males were starting to get a hook on their nose and the females full of eggs.
We used pink hoochies behind sling blades with a green center.
