have just picked up a lowrance HDS5M, which as stated above is a stand alone chartplotter, GPS. When I get ready to get a depth finder, fish finder, I will get a stand alone unit. I just thought that if one unit went out I would still have the other one working, also have lots of room on the dash. All I have to do is now get and out and fish..............
