I have a 14 ft boat and I have a little money to spend on a Fishfinder. What would the Kokanee fisher faithfull recommend? What is a good Finder? I heard that you want something with alot of pixels and powerful. Please help.

With that being your limit, consider buying something for $500 to start and then upgrading later in the season or next seaso to an Airmar transducer to really get some performance out of your unit. They run about $125 to $150 and really strengthen your signal a bunch. To the point that you will get speed and bottom returns even at cruising speeds.

Customer service is also something to concider when purchasing a fishfinder. I'd advice going with Humminbird. Their customer sevice has been great...I've had a 777c2 on the boat for around 5 years now. I've sent the unit back in a few times for software upgrades and added gps and a barametric pressure sensor. The only issue I've had was loseing the depth readout up at Paulina in a couple areas but fixed it by adjusting the sensitivity.

Look at the 778c HD. This unit goes for around $500. It's color, 4000 watt, 640x640 pixels, and has a dual beam transducer.

Look into the Lowarance X135. It's a powerful unit and will fit into your budget. Yea, it's not color but for the $$$ it will do just what you need.

I'm also looking to upgrade. If I do I would have a Lowrance lms 522c with internal gps receiver. Works great just looking to go to a larger display.

I just purchased a Hummingbird 788ci combo for $479.00 on sale from a leading retailer . It sells orginally for 649.00 . It 's an excellent buy for under $500 .
