When it comes to trolling speeds one would think I will just slow down the outboard. Well it will only slow down so much. I have a 17' Olympic with a 50 HP Yamaha. I have a 2.5 HP four stroke Yamaha trolling motor. Now this should work fine with that small egg beater prop right. Not so it would only slow down to 1.8 MPH to fast for trolling for Kokanee. I contacted the factory and they said they only made one prop that dropped one pitch. They said it would work fine because the blades were much thinner. They were right I can troll as slow as .5 MPH. So pitch is very crucial when it comes to trolling. My only complaint on the 2.5 HP Yamaha is it burns a lot of gas, I can troll 5.5 hours on one quart of gas. Yet it will push the boat at 4.5 MPH at full throttle. I love this egg beater. See you all at Wickiup next year.

Kokanee Gal your getting some prime info, usually you make changes and them mistakes cost money. I just added battery for my kicker and down riggers (two) when fishing using my down riggers for a few days say up at the lake on friday and staying to Sunday them down riggers would ware/pull my battery's down.So I added one battery in tamdon with my trolling kicker and that battery will for my down riggers .I also have two battery in tamdon for my big motor. With orginally I ran my down riggers on. Good luck your getting it down its only money.
