Sounds like we are getting divirgent replies to snakeriverfishers question. The reels are NOT for Koke use. I think a ML rod is a perfect choice for these reels snakeriverfisher.

well I don't know about anybody else, but I just need to stop discussing fishing and just do it . that will settle a lot of these discussions

Now I think I need to go to Cabela's and look at that 9 footer
Thanks K-H

you bet, i've been more than pleased with their spinning rods matched with my levelwind reels, someone can pay 4 times the price for a specialized kokanee rod but it doesn't mean they get 4 times the quality or results, i know the newest kokanee rods are super neat and futuristic but i just have a hard time paying more than $40 for a fishing rod, i like to waste my money on more important things like my kids' college education and expensive beer that costs twice as much as bud or coors thumbsup

people used to tell me my old 1986 2-wheel drive honda fourtrax ATV was not suitable for serious off-roading / trail riding, but that was before i would blow by them on their financed can-am outlanders that rarely left the main road nananana

I almost forgot my buddy tried the 7 foot light action wuppin sticks from cabelas and really likes them they had a great action lifetime warranty. cork handles. and were less than 30 bucks but he had to order them in they rarely stock them.

it doesn't happen often but usually once a year or so those rods go on sale for around $14 and they are giving them away when that happens, $30 is pretty good for those rods already, they are good quality and have held up well for me

Starting on the left is the Velocity 7' rod with the Black Ops 150 reel, second is Vance's 702 spiral wrap rod with Tica Gold Caimen 100 reel, third is Lamiglass JJ red team kokanee rod with Okuma Convector CV15D line counter reel, and fourth is a promotional(comes with purchase of Walker downrigger) spiral wrap medium rod with Okuma MA30DX line counter reel. The first 3 I keep in the boat. The fourth is used for when I'm at Bear Lake chasing cutts and macks. Can be and maybe in the future for ocean salmon, my fingers are crossed. I have used this rod also on the Gorge.

good selection of rods Roger

have you had the chance to try the green velocity rod. I have the blue one with the black opps reel been trying it out on the walleye and it seems to work very well.
