New to kokanee fishing

I am going to South Fork Colorado for Vacation and thought I would like to try to catch a kokanee or two. Can anyone tell me the closest resevoir to fish that I might have good results in? Thanks!

We usually fish Beaver lake and Big meadow. But we are usually going after trout. Can you fish for Kokanee from land? I have several friends in Oklahoma that Balloon fish for saugeye from the bank this way becasue they can get way out in the lake from shore.
