I was putting new scotty cable on my cannons and needed thimbles so I went down to fishermans to get some and the oem ones were $12.00 to do 2 so I went over to the tuna section and found enough thimbles and sleeves to do 10 for for a little over $8.00 heres the parts and description
I like using the thimbles so the chamberlain doesn't wear on the cable ( I hook the chamberlains direct, then a snubber then the stick weight )so here's the order. first get every thing together
then slide your ball retriever ( I have gotten in a hurry and forgot this step) then the bumper then the three sleeves ( you can use 2 but I used to be a rigger and it's a hard habit to break)
now put the thimble thru the chamberlain feed the cable around, slide on the first sleeve cinch tight leaving about a 4'' tail and crimp
then slide the 2nd sleeve on about an 1/2'' above the first and crimp then slide the third one down to the second one and cut the cable about a 1/2'' longer slide the third sleeve up to the end of the cable so there is no sharp wire hanging out and crimp and it should look like this
then slide down the bumper and you are done
hope this helps and saves you some money. dfly
