lets face it the super duper isn't my go to lure. but there are days that nothing else is working. the problem with the super duper is it has a trebble hook that is rigged ridged to the body and kokanee will use this as leverage to tear it out of there mouths so last year I came up with a solution. I took a super duper, removed the hook and ring, took a dbl #4 hook set up, and tied a iridescent red tail on. it works quite well and they don't throw it like the stock trebble set up. just something to try when nothing else seams to be working. dfly

dave that would work too but I like that second hook to hook the gill plate or other head part along with the mouth to help hang on. I don't loose many at the boat that way. dfly

Sometimes they are deadly. I always have a few in tackle box but don't try them enough. Have you found any loss in action with the two hook set-up? I think I will try the swivel with a siwash hook idea.

I will definitely try the good old SuperDuper this season. I have caught kokes using the cripple lure which is kind of like an inverted super duper. I'm with SuperD in rerigging using a siwash hook. I rerigged all my apex lures that way. Its about time to start tying up some spinners and do a general inventory of what I've got and what I need.

I don't know if it will act the same with a single hook, with the dbl hook and the tail, I bend the upper part of the inner tab out just a little (keeping it the same width ) and it has a swishing wiggle to it and seams to provoke the strike impulse. seams to work. i am a hoochy person and always use them first and catch plenty of fish and only use the super duper when things go dead, now i am wondering how many fish I really miss? dfly

Super duper on kokes? I carry a few... might have to get one wet now. Since we're kinda on the subject... anyone here ever caught a koke on a hot shot? The reason i ask is years ago i read a kokanee write-up on a lake up in Washinton (might have been Merwin) and they mentioned silver hot shots in size 60 we're knocking em dead. I went out and got a few but never did try them.

I might be giving kokanee to much credit but one year on greenpeter while trolling one of the arms there was a bass tournamentt going on and while watching them in there fancy boats with all the raised seats throwing every top bait ,rubber worm, and skirts at them and not getting any bites and then moving on,there was an old guy in a 12' boat that came by after them and was just killing them.any way the day ended and we were at the dock when the old guy came up, and asked how we did, and how he would like to know how to fish for them so after that I asked how he was catching bass when all the tourney guys weren't even getting a bite he said they were all useing the same thing and they get wise and won't go after that bait any more. he was just useing a worm riggeg texas style and killing them. he said find out what every one else is useing and try something else. simple is better. so mabe that is why the super duper works and maby the hot shot will work if they havent seen it before. I don't know if kokanee are that smart but it makes sense. dfly
