Last year at the Pacific Northwest Sportsman's Show while manning the Kokanee Power of Oregon booth, I spoke with many from Washington who were wanting to have a like organization up in Washington. During the course of the year, I put on kokanee seminars as far North as Seattle. During those seminars, I once again heard the same question, "when are we going to have Kokanee Power in Washington?"
Well the ball is in your court now, because there are sponsors ready to step up and help get the ball rolling. The problem is it seems is that there is nobody willing to step up and form the nucleus of the club.
The club here in Oregon is willing to play it forward and assist in helping to set the club up, but there needs to be the general membership that has the interest to step up and make it happen.
I have been corresponding with some individuals up North who are concerned about the decline in the kokanee fisheries in several Northern lakes. This is your opportunity to do something substantial and insure that your kids, grand kids as well as generations yet to come have the same opportunity to pursue this great game fish. I recently wrote an article on my blog as to the concerns at one of those lakes (Sammamish) and the problems that they are encountering with the faltering economy.
Who is willing to step up and be counted? If you are truly interested and willing to put in the effort, lets get the discussion going! fencing
