Well my favorite little Kokanee lake is starting to heat up. I was out for 2 hrs. this morning and hooked 7 and landed 5 10" to 11 1/2" and they all put up a good fight and 4 came to the top and put on a show for me. I was using a 50/50 0000 dodger with a chartreuse weddingring with corn and pink power maggot. The best thing about this lake is it's 15 min. from home.

Sweet my 13yr old and I went to angle lake sunday AKA mothers day and got are limit of kok's in 45min. nice chunky kok's 15ft down!

I see it everytime I fly out of Sea-Tac, and wonder what was in it...right in Puget-tropolis...who'd da thunk!?!?!?

That would be it ! small little lake but lots of kokanee no traffic in the kokanee lane either : P . It allso holds some nice triplodes / rock bass low fishing presure .

RIGHT ON Kokhead!!!!! thumbsup I'm in the mood for trying some other lakes and may have to give it a try. Tried Clear Lake (Pierce Co.) about a week ago for the first time this year. But the fish were awful small.

newbie

hi, thanks for the report. This sounds really fun, I have never fished for kokanee and am somewhat new to fishing. Can you catch them from the docks at angle lake or do you need to troll?

thank you

also any kokanee fishing tips are appreciated.

The best way is to troll but I have seen them caught off the dock but not very often. Right now they are running about 20' to 30' deep so if you wanted to try off the dock I would fish about a 4' to 5' leader and a 3/4 oz. sinker to get it out there with corn and a pink Gulp maggot with a small marshmallow to get it to float off the bottom. Good luck and tight lines.
