Kokanee Kid

It has been a few years since my family has been to Lake Cushman. We headed out of town Friday afternoon and were meet quickly with our lovely I-5 traffic. After setting up camp the wife and I head out on the water and have the lake to ourselves.
And we are met by willing biters!
I fished everyday, and saw only a few other boats!
And on Sunday morning I hooked up with Hotrod to see how all the new kokanee gear was working for him.
Never had a 13 year-old kid driving the boat while we were fishing! He did great too! We were on fish quick too. I wish the fish were bigger, but I tell you these kokes fight better than most of our local fish. We lost some, released some, and kept some.
And just before we were going to call it a day, we got a landlocked Chinook on a wannafishalure!!!
So I do believe that is the first landlocked king on one of Toni's lures!!!!!!
So Hotrod heads out Monday am with his family. So it was up to the kid to put it all together by himself. And in about 2 hours they had about 20 take-downs, now that's good fishing! Great job Hotrod!!!!!!!!!!!!!
