I'm going to Ward Lake Thurston county this week via the Yelm highway. Need to know where the boat launch is from the highway. Help is appreciated. Thanks much.

Sorry for the delayed response but here's the directions to Ward and an updated fishing report from my time on the Lake yesterday; 06/14/11.
Heading east on Yelm Highway, take a left on Boulevard Ave. Adjacent to the Chevron Mart. Go north 0.4 miles to 42nd Ave. SE and take a left. This street is easy to miss! Look for a red house for sale sign. Follow 42nd down to WDFW access ramp............Don't forget your access sticker!
I hit the lake kinda late yesterday......06:00am. Had two nice 14" kokes in the boat by 07:00 (25' at west side of lake). That was it! Did catch and lose 2- 4" kokes (yearlings).....no biggy there. These smaller fish were at 14-21' and scattered through the lake.
Caught the fish on small red tubes w/#2 red Gami split/drop shot hooks laced with scented (Pautzke Red Juice) shoepeg corn and a dab of the kokannee killer for good measure. All of it trailed behind a small #4 dodger at 1.1 mph. Vary your speed from 0.8 to 1.2 mph.
It's a total scratch fishery on this lake but it's literally in my backyard and it saves $$$$$$ in gas rather than going to American or Summit plus ya got the lake to yourselve..............probably for the obvious reason the fish aren't jumping in the boat! 101yawn
