went out yesterday by myself and caught 10 Koks - 6 went back to grow up - one hog was 18" and 5" across - bet 3 lbs. - heaviest this year - not to much blush yet - googens where out - even some of the fisherman are bad - a couple party barges just go tooling thru the fleet like " look at me " - you could hit with a rock:) didn't have any rocks - darn- talked to a couple boats that where not doing well on downriggers - I believe those fish coming up to under 20 ft. are ones you catch - just my opinion - I be a die hard longliner

No kidding about the googens...I spent 10 years windsurfing under the Golden Gate Bridge (Crissy Field), the airport and Berkeley Pier so it goes without saying I am not too impressed with someone "surfing" behind a wake boat in 72 degree water.....and it could be the lack of sharks as well toothumbsup

So..what was the secret sauce yesterday and the location?

pretty simple 1 oz ball on plastic slip weight holder - 2 ft leader - silver ( with flectolite ) ford fender - snubber - red wedding ring with garlic corn out 100 ft. at 1.5 mph - that's my stand by - hey next year it will be all different so no big secret - got there late - I think it was a early show - quit bitin by 11 - most on east side south of spring shores - maybe 1 week left? don't hurt any googens:)

Concur, Fish ID shows everything with air as fish to include exhaust bubbles! With Fish ID off, you will be able to tell a zooplankton bloom from trout, but more importantly (for me anyway), trout and other fish from Koke's.

Look at the DR. Sonar web page for more info on HB units.

Went out yesterday afternoon for a couple of hours..complete bust. Two light hits as soon as I hit the opposite bank and that was it.

Yeah it very well could be, it was near the dam intake so I am going to guess that is what it was.

I still have to find that magic settings on my fish finder, after reading the manual, and watching multiple videos, still can't seem to dial it in.

Was fishing yesterday on the long line, got 5 bites... very good ones... one so good I had to cut the engine... but they all came off.

That being said, I was long lining with a worm, dodger, and kokabow, was very likely trout.

Think we saw you out there G3 - red and white rig? We were in the green/white crestliner, and also got buzzed a couple times by rec boaters - here we are pretty tight to shore and 20+ footer passes between me and the shore at full speed, maybe 40 feet away at most. I gave them the hands in the air shrug, but apparently they thought I was waving and just waved back.

Anyhow we boated 8 kokes, 2 of which were 18" - and wow they put up an epic fight. I was using downriggers, most fish we caught around 20' down, a couple shallower at 12-15'.

Yeah, the only change seems to be from an orange WR to red one. That and the upping to 1oz from 1/2oz or none at all.

The one I kept Sunday was starting to turn, hump forming, a "slight" pinkish hue if you were at the right angle but still very dark on top and silver sides at most angles. Meat was a tad more orange than red but tasted fine. I think that if I do catch more, it will be the smoker for them.

Graphed the water, coldest was 72.2 on top and 60.1 at 115'. The temp dropped consistently on the way down so there was not a therm plateau to speak of.

Barb and I fished Tuesday morning, nice weather, beautiful day with a lot of clouds and not too hot. We launched the boat at Bruces Eddy and headed to Canyon Creek, about a hundred yards out the fishfinder was really lit up with Kokanee, but we stuck with our plan and continued on our way. We had set our limit at 20 fish total, did not want to deal with any more than that. Pulled the boat off plane at Canyon Creek, the fishfinder is showing a few Kokanee. We get the lines in at 8:00 am, right away we have the first fish, catching is pretty consistent and we have 20 fish at 11:00 am. Started with pink squids, and scented red corn, but through trial and error, found that green squid with a chrome smiley blade, tipped with scented white corn was the hot lure, green beaded lures with spinner blades also worked good. The surface water temp. was 75-F, so we put the fish in a bag of ice as we caught them, this kept them very firm, with no rib bones popping out when we cleaned them. All of the fish were around 9". The jet skiers, and ski boats were getting active when we left, and it was starting to heat up, so if you are going, get there early. Tight lines, Ken

went today slow 8 - 6 went back no hogs windy all morn. talked to a couple guys had about the same

Same here, kept one that was 13" because it was hooked in the gills but the rest were little and had a lot of light hits.

I did have one good hit when I was screwing around at 40' with beer cans and a large Rainbow Apex. Guess I will go back tomorrow morning and start looking for big trout...better than doing yard work!

Went today from 7:30 ~ Noon. Slow. Wife caught 1 keeper 17" and 5 little one in Charcoal creek area at 25' deep. She used blue & silver Vance dodger and pink squid. I had only one bite on my pole that all. Heck! I can hear she sings for the whole day.:) Later I ran up close to Spring shore then the remote steering switch of the trolling motor broke down. Also the Hummingbird fish finder malfunction...I don't know the transducer or the fish finder fail. The screen display as normal but the depth was not correct. I knew few places that I fish was more 150' now it read as 52'. Time to do research and upgrade fish finder. I owned the Garmin fish finder model 160 before and it was good unit. Bad news is manufacturer discontinous that model.

On the way home, I bought a momentary DPDT switch at Bolen Control house and make a replacement. Switch with 20' cord is $76.00 from Remot-Troll. I spent 12 buck and about 2 hrs to make it works, it still needs a small box for electrical protecting. I'll buy one more switch and 15' cord and connect parallel to exiting one. In case one fail then use the other.
LP will be crowd tomorrow.

Decided to go out today, 6:30 - 10. 2-14" Koke's, 3-pikeminnows and a Yellow Perch.....needless to say the Kokes came home with me, the pikeminnows fed the fishes and the 10" Perch is still swimming around out there so beware of the little corn thief!

Fished this morning with my Dad 8 to 11. We had a good morning with 2 limits with a mix of this years spawners and next years fish. This years spawners are starting to blush up and where 14"+- had 1 @ 16" the others where 10"+-. Caught fish on DR @ 40 FOW and lead core out 5 colors.

from the reports im getting its about over sounds like the only ones being caught are the 9 " next year fish - guess I will go chase bass and crappie at Brownlee

Went out last night for a couple hours, not even a nibble. Had 2 dr going, and 1 long line. "Don't worry, I wasn't fishing with 3 poles ;) I had people with me"

I did get to try out my new trolling motor tho! AMAZINGLY quiet. With 3 people in the boat got it going roughly 3mph, but it was calm water, should be good enough to push through wind tho. The GPS works really nice keeps you going in a straight line even when the 3-4' waves come smashing in. I ended up getting a Powerdrive V2 48" 55lb thrust I-Pilot decided I could save a few bucks going with that model rather than terrova.

DR at 20' and 1 at 40'

Longline 100'

Used green wiggle hoochie paired with a UV Green Slingblade,
Pink spinner hoochie paired with a UV Red Slingblade
Red/chart wedding ring with a watermelon dodger.
All tipped with some fire corn.

Seemed pretty dead, but it is nice to see the water dropping, looks like it dropped a couple of feet.

I fished last Saturday from 7am to 11am. Had and lost 3 in the first hour with two of them having some substance. None stayed on more than 1 minute.. Hooked one more later that I got right next to the boat and it got off as I was grabbing the net. All were between 25 and 30'.

We went to LP today. Fish from 9:40AM until 2:30PM caught 6 kok size ~13", lost couple when we reel them in. There's no wind so we fish with 4 poles. 2 long line with 1.5oz lead + Ford fender + kokabow kestrel 90' line out. I don't know how deep these line go to. We caught 4 kok on these poles. Caught 1 on dr @ 35' and the other dr at 47' with dodger and pink squid + white corn. We troll from Goose Neck Bay to Pipeline Gulch. Later we went up to Spring shore but look like they quit biting @ 2:00PM.
My Hummingbird fish finder still doesn't measure depth right, all reading was from 32' thru 52" When I disconnect transducer connector on the back of the unit then it reads 0' so transducer may be bad. That's old unit. I"ll buy the Garmin echo 201DV for replacement.

Lucky Peak map

Does anyone know of a map that shows identifiable landmarks or names of creeks that enter into Lucky Peak and Arrowrock Res? I looked at a few on google maps and from BLM but they not very detailed. Just curious as to what certain areas are called. Like the narrows , irrigation pipe point, Kokanee Bay, etc.

This will help: http://webapp.navionics.com/?lang=en#@10&key=wsyhGtd`cU

The narrows are obvious with this map as you head towards the AR Dam, I cant pinpoint the others though I know were they are.
